Chris Sharp, CIT

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from Colorado Christian University and am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University. Before pursuing counseling, I spent several years serving as a professional firefighter and EMT, where I had the privilege of helping people during some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives. Those experiences deepened my compassion for others and strengthened my desire to serve people who are hurting or facing significant challenges. As a practicum student, I am developing my clinical skills through supervised counseling experience, with a particular interest in trauma and post-traumatic stress. I utilize a person-centered approach to counseling, emphasizing empathy, respect, genuine connection, and the unique experiences and needs of each individual.

I believe that meaningful healing involves caring for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. As a Christian counselor-in-training, I believe that therapy grounded in the faith and hope found in Jesus Christ provides an important foundation for healing and navigating life’s trials. My years as a firefighter and EMT taught me the importance of being present, listening well, and offering compassionate support when people need it most—values I carry with me into the counseling relationship. I strive to create a safe, respectful environment where clients feel heard and supported as they work toward healing and growth. It is a privilege to continue that calling to serve others through counseling as I work toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.
