5 Dos for Stress and Burnout Management

5 Dos for Stress and Burnout Management
  1. Balance. Find a balance in work, play, and rest, submitting all of these areas to Christ.

  2. Sleep. Your body is designed for sleeping approximately 1/3 of your day, or 8 hours out of 24. Focus on getting your 8 hours, then design the rest of your day around sleep.

  3. Evaluate. Look at your remaining 16 hours of the day. You might need to say “no” to some things if your plate is too full. And this is ok. Pray over all you have on it and see what God desires you to keep. You may also have things on your plate that aren’t good for your stress levels.

  4. Assess. Give your stress a rating each day or throughout the day, scale it 0-10. 0 is no stress up to 10, having the most stress you’ve experienced. This helps you mentally prepare for the stress and work to manage it.

  5. Break. Take a break with some self care of breathing, go for a walk, phone a friend, and pray.
